India is known for its richness in culture and natural resources. When we consider the natural resources, minerals play a vital role. Important resources such as manganese, coal and iron are available in surplus in India and been exported to other countries. These are generally classified into metallic and non-metallic. Resources such as coal are used to generate electricity. Petroleum is also a mineral which is scarcely available in India. With the innovations of modern technologies, many mineral rich places are located in and around India and those resources are extracted to help the mankind. This helps in improving the economy of our country.
